A Note from Sheena

When we meet you’ll soon forget that we’re just meeting for the first time. Connecting with people on a personal level is my forte. How else would I make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera? 

Our conversation begins the moment we meet and continues throughout the session. We get rid of the awkwardness right off the bat. Natural, true to life, in-the-moment photos are what we specialize in. 

We love seeing grooms with tears in their eyes when they see their beautiful bride, we love seeing the pure joy on your family’s faces when you’re pronounced MARRIED!!!! So many special occasions that we have the opportunity to relive through beautiful images. Those are the moments that remind me what I was put on this earth for. 

I started my photographer journey back in 2012 as an Advertising & Design student at Concord University. My yearbook instructor tasked me with taking photos for the yearbook. I fell in love. I got a business license at the age of 21 and started as a Wedding Photography Intern that year. Photography became my life source from then on. I worked at a well known Advertising Agency for 4 years before leaving to pursue my photography dreams full time. That’s been several years ago and now the dream just keeps getting bigger.

Jake joined the team about 4 years ago. He was my life partner already (now fiance!). He is so talented it blows me away when I see his photos and videos at the end of the day. We both see moments from a different perspective, giving you so many unique captures of your beautiful day!

I could tell you more about our story, but truthfully you already know it. You’ve seen the photos all around my website. They are all a reflection of us and we’re present in every single one, we’re just a bit outside of the frame :)

Jake Hanson

Jake has been part of the SPDP team since 2020, full time since the summer of 2021. What began as an assistant position quickly grew to a full time video/photo position when we realized he had such natural talent!

Jake runs our partner company Cyber Wolf Digital Media, and handles all of our Wedding Films here at SPDP! Jake specializes in capturing cinematic-quality wedding films and branding videos for small businesses. We work together as a team to make sure each occasion is captured with the care and love each couple and business deserves.

Jake and I (Sheena) are not only business partners, but also life partners! We just recently got engaged. As of Spring/Summer of 2025 we’ll be a husband/wife team! When we’re not out shooting your insanely beautiful faces, you can find us hiking in the WV mountains, in the kitchen cooking, at home tending to our cats/goats/turtles/doodle, or playing video games in our PJs.
