Jeff and Maggie's wedding is one that I will not soon forget. The wedding happened to fall on the same weekend as a 100 year flood here in WV. That did not stop the union between this lovely bride and groom.
The day started with the girls getting ready at the spa in the Greenbrier. They guys got ready at the Sporting Club. Once the bride and groom were ready, the wedding party made their way over to St. Charles Catholic church for the ceremony. The church was gorgeous. I love photographing ceremonies in churches like this that have an upper floor to get multiple angles.
After the ceremony we got the formal photos and then the bride and groom went back to the Greenbrier for couple's photos. This is my absolute favorite part of the day. I love capturing the moments when the bride and groom get some time alone, away from the wedding crowd. The entire hotel was closed all except for the wedding party due to the extreme flooding.
The reception was held on the top of the mountain at The Summit at the Greenbrier Sporting Club. The floral arrangements and decorations looked fantastic. There was no power so the food had been prepared on grills, and I have to say, it was fantastic. Once it got dark outside, it was almost pitch black. There was very little light since it was coming from generators.
The night ended with a super fun party at the reception. The bride and groom had some fun on stage with the band.
